This is the fourth post in our monthly series “Running Mates,” showcasing chic comrades of N&P for their sartorial smarts and their enterprising insight. This month, we feature decorator Max Sinsteden of Olasky & Sinsteden, who previously appeared on N&P for his healthy smoothie skills.

A devoted aesthete, decorator and stylist Max Sinsteden has been designing ever since he and Van tacked up nautical charts in his dorm room at Choate. His knack for smaller spaces landed his compact college digs in New York Magazine–and trust us, you’ve seen it on Pinterest. Experiences working with decorating greats like Charlotte Moss andDavid Easton led him to start his eponymous company, Olasky & Sinsteden, where he and partner Catherine Olasky spruce up homes from Houston to Hyde Park. While beautiful interior work is his calling card, we also love his eye-catching personal style, where bright staples and a little DIY knowhow (custom grosgrain taped blazers, anyone?) make Max a master of Connecticut prep. Here, he unpacks his Globe-Trotter trunk, styling a Palm Beach tableau around a vintage wicker-lined Fiat Jolly.
